First Impressions: Urban Decay Vice 3

If you read my christmas wish list post then you'll know that one of the things I asked for was this very eyeshadow palette, and low and behold Santa answered my request! This has to be one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I mean, look at its colourful glittery goodness! As I've only had it for just over a week I thought I'd go for more of a first impressions to share my initial thoughts. Let's start with the brush, I'm a fan. I've not really used the shorter end much yet but I really like the longer one to blend the edges and give it a final fluff. The colours are insane! A mix of matts, shimmers, neutrals and brights it has it all. So far I've used a mix of them all and they're so buttery soft and easy to apply and blend. I really like the packaging, and that it comes with a little bag, but why does it have a mirrored font?!?! It may look good but let's face it, it will never not have fingerprints on it. So far I'm really enjoying using this palette and can't wait to get back to uni and use it for a night out!

Festive Furries

As you'll have seen if you saw yesterday's christmas tree post, I like teddies and furry creatures... a lot. During the festive period this 'like' gets heightened by about 10,000 with all of the santa and reindeers and snowmen and ahhhhh! It all gets a bit too much! I thought that I'd share some more photos from those bears who may only come out for one month of the year but who are still super cute!

Favourite Friday: Mac Pigments

As we are coming into the colder months I'm really getting into wearing purple colours on my eyes to spread the festivities and recently I've been cracking out some old products that I got as gifts years and years ago. At the minute my favourite purple eye look has been with these crushed metallic pigments by Mac. I got these for Christmas a few years ago now and I love the fact that when they are on the eyes they sparkle and shimmer like it's nobodies business! Love the wet kind of look that they give.

This is 'Dusty Desire' as it's a really deep purple it can look a little matt in some lights but knows when to bring out the sparkle. I like to use this one in the crease when I'm wanting a really dark look but mostly on the outer corners. However I would say that I use this one the least as it can sometimes be a little daunting and dark when I'm not really feeling that adventurous.

This is probably my favourite of all the pigments and it's called 'Prettified'. I like this one the most as it still has the little hints of purple sparkle but it is such a gorgeous copper colour and looks so good when on the lids. I use this both on the lid and in the crease depending on how intense I want to be with my eyes.

This unusual eyeshadow colour is called 'Femininity' and is the little surprise of the four pigments. In the pot it looks like a hot pink/purple, and it is, but in some light something magic happens...it turns blue. I just love the way it looks and the fact that it makes your eyes pop and stand out with the fact that IT'S A COLOUR CHANGING EYESHADOW! Insane.

And last but not least this is 'Maribu'. Depending on the different lights this can look like a very light lilac or a bright white with a pinky hue. I like to use this one in the inner corners as it really brightens the eye and when I put it all over my lid it can sometimes look a bit too bright and reflective.

My nail varnish collection and storage

Now, I never thought that my little collection of nail varnishes was particularly big until I recently had a sort out. When it covered at least a quarter of my very large desk I started to think that maybe it was slightly excessive. Soon enough my little green wicker box was overflowing and I was forced to find another place to store them. Cue my birthday and I received a Champneys gift box. After 'uming and aahring' of what to put in it I thought it would be a good nail varnish storage.
I decided that putting it on it's side looked much better than if I just had it flat as it looks like a cute little shelving unit. At first I just had them like this without securing them which worked out fine for a couple of days but when I tried to get one out one day I unleashed a varnish avalanche and there was  nothing I could do but stand on my swivel chair (as I store this in my overhead unit things) trying not to fall off whilst being hit by flying nail products. After that, I decided to blutack them down to prevent it from happening again, *fingers crossed*.

Disco ball

Shirley Temple
Mint candy apple
These three varnishes are my favourites. Disco ball by Rimmel is a sparkle top coat type thing which has silver, blue and purple specs (as you can tell I'm soooo good at explaining things!). I like to wear it over purples and blues and if I want mega sparkle I'll do 2-3 coats. My favourite one at the minute is Essie's Mint candy apple. It applies really nicely and the brush is so fat you need like one swipe and you're done! The colour is bright and happy and seems to stay on my nails for at least a week which is amazing! Last but not least is Shirley Temple by Rimmel. It's a shimmery orange colour and is actually what I wore on my nails for my Sixth-Form prom. This is such a good colour to wear in summer as it really sparkles in the sunshine.

I made a video over on my YouTube channel featuring my collection and where abouts it is etc so hop on over and take a gander! Click the link below to go straight there, bye!
